For immediate release

Contact: Lisa Mohler (248) 722-0174 or info@theplat.org

The PLAT (Pontiac’s Little Art Theatre) is pleased to announce they’ve been awarded a Capacity Building grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and the Pontiac Funders Collaborative.

With the recent events and the changes in conducting day to day business operations, the PLAT has had, as many other businesses have, to think out of the box and create new ways to bring our productions to the public, enter the support of the Pontiac Funders Collaborative.

Funding supports PLAT’s Tech to Connect project – new technological equipment to produce and livestream performances, films and original artworks. Our audience is vital to our existence. This keeps us connected from a distance, expands future programming potential and adds to our state-of-the-art capabilities.

“We are very excited by the possibilities that the Pontiac Funders Collaborative grant will provide both the PLAT and the public at large. We are already planning collaborations, such as Spoken Word: Myths, Rumors and Legends, chiving the history of Pontiac and its people in collaboration with historical societies, the education sector, and the local theater community. The possibilities are numerous and far reaching! Visit us at theplat.org to stay connected and updated and all the new offerings,” Lisa Mohler, Operations Manager for PLAT.

In close partnership with local government and nonprofit organizations, the Pontiac Funders Collaborative has been working to support a collective plan to help strengthen Pontiac’s ability to thrive. Pontiac Funders Collaborative initial members include: Ballmer Group, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, Flagstar Bank Foundation, General Motors, New Economy Initiative, The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, Tauber Family Foundation, and The William Davidson Foundation. For more information go to cfsem.org/pontiac.

The Collaborative is administered by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
